India Publicly Honours Six Fallen Heroes of Operation Sindoor; Names to Be Etched at National War Memorial


NEW DELHI, India — The Government of India has publicly released, for the first time, the names of six military personnel who were killed in action during Operation Sindoor, India’s military operation conducted against Pakistan in May 2025.

The six fallen service members are:

  • Subedar Major Pawan Kumar
  • Rifleman Sunil Kumar
  • Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar
  • Agniveer Mood Murali Naik
  • Havildar Sunil Kumar Singh
  • Sergeant Surendra Kumar

According to the announcement, the names of these bravehearts will be permanently engraved on special commemorative bricks at the National War Memorial in New Delhi, ensuring that their service, courage, and sacrifice are remembered by future generations.

Operation Sindoor was launched in May 2025 as a military response amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. The operation involved coordinated actions by the Indian Armed Forces against targets linked to cross-border threats.
