Balmer Lawrie Investments Appoints Two New Government Nominee Directors

New Delhi : Balmer Lawrie Investments Limited (BLIL) has announced significant changes to its Board of Directors following directions from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

At its Board meeting held on August 13, 2026, the company approved the cessation of two existing Government Nominee Directors and the appointment of two new Government Nominee Directors with effect from the same date.

Following directions from the Administrative Ministry, two existing Non-Executive Government Nominee Directors have ceased to hold office.

Shri Samir Kumar Mohanty (DIN: 10404198) has ceased to be a Non-Executive Government Nominee Director of Balmer Lawrie Investments Limited.

His cessation follows the withdrawal of his nomination by the Administrative Ministry.

Arvind Nath Jha

Shri Arvind Nath Jha (DIN: 10384829) has also ceased to be a Non-Executive Government Nominee Director.

His cessation is likewise the result of the withdrawal of nomination by the Administrative Ministry.

Two New Government Nominee Directors Appointed

Following the changes, the Board has appointed Shri Aditya Shekhar Singh and Shri Romon Sebastian Louis as Non-Executive Additional Directors in the designation of Government Nominee Directors.

Aditya Shekhar Singh Appointed to the Board

Shri Aditya Shekhar Singh (DIN: 11606166) has been appointed as a Non-Executive Additional Director in the designation of Government Nominee Director.

He is currently serving as Deputy Secretary (General Coordination & Flagship Program) in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Singh holds a Master of Management Studies (MMS) in Finance & HR Management and has approximately 26 years of experience across various Central Government ministries.

His professional experience includes work with ministries and departments associated with areas such as:

  • Minority Affairs
  • General Government Administration

His experience in government administration and financial matters is expected to be relevant to his new board-level responsibilities.

Romon Sebastian Louis Joins the Board

Shri Romon Sebastian Louis (DIN: 08710802) has also been appointed as a Non-Executive Additional Director in the designation of Government Nominee Director.

He is currently serving as Director (Service Businesses) at Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd.

Louis has been associated with the Balmer Lawrie Group for nearly three decades and has extensive experience in logistics infrastructure and service businesses.

He holds a postgraduate degree in Marketing & Sales Management.

His long association with the Balmer Lawrie Group and experience in logistics and service businesses could bring significant sector knowledge to the Board.

Tenure of the New Directors

The two newly appointed directors will initially hold office up to the next General Meeting of the company, in accordance with the applicable provisions.

The Administrative Ministry has nominated both directors for a period of three years from August 4, 2026, on a co-terminus basis, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Therefore, their Government Nominee Director positions are linked to the tenure specified by the Administrative Ministry.

Company Confirms Regulatory Eligibility

Balmer Lawrie Investments has confirmed that neither of the newly appointed directors has been debarred from holding the office of director by SEBI or any other statutory authority.
