To qualify, applicants must:
- Be permanent residents of mining-affected villages or urban areas in Korba.
- Have their names recorded in the relevant Gram Panchayat or Urban Local Body records.
- Belong to a BPL family.
- Submit a valid income certificate.
- Have secured at least 50% marks in their previous qualifying examination.
- Obtain admission as a regular student in a recognized government or government-affiliated educational institution.
Wide Range of Courses Covered
The scheme will support students enrolled in:
- Undergraduate (UG) programs
- Postgraduate (PG) courses
- Technical education
- Professional degree programs
- Diploma courses
- Other courses approved by the District-Level Committee
Eligible institutions include:
- Government educational institutions
- Government-aided institutions
- Recognized universities
- Recognized colleges
However, the scheme does not cover:
- Unrecognized institutions
- Private coaching centers
- Short-term certificate courses
- Foreign universities
Financial Assistance Offered
Eligible students will receive financial support for:
- Tuition fees
- Mandatory admission fees
- Hostel accommodation charges
- Mess charges
The maximum financial assistance for each course will be determined by the District-Level Committee.
Importantly, the scheme clarifies that payments will be made directly to the educational institution or its authorized hostel, ensuring transparency and proper utilization of funds.
Expenses Not Covered
The scheme does not provide financial support for:
- Laptops
- Mobile phones
- Books
- Stationery
- Transportation expenses
- Private coaching fees
- Personal expenses
- Private paying guest (PG) accommodation
- Rental housing
Students already receiving financial assistance for the same purpose under another government scheme will not be eligible for duplicate benefits.

Scholarship Renewal Conditions
Students seeking renewal in subsequent academic years must provide:
- Pass certificate
- Bonafide student certificate
- Hostel continuation certificate
- Updated fee structure
Additionally, beneficiaries must maintain a minimum 75% attendance.
The scholarship may be discontinued if a student:
- Fails the academic year
- Withdraws from the course
- Provides false information
