Mumbai, India | Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, celebrated its 119th Foundation Day by unveiling a wide-ranging portfolio of digital banking, retail lending, MSME financing, green finance, and financial inclusion initiatives. The celebrations were held under the theme “Leading with Trust,” reaffirming the bank’s commitment to innovation, customer-centric banking, and sustainable growth.
The event was attended by Sachin Tendulkar, the bank’s Global Brand Ambassador, who inaugurated the new bob World mobile banking platform, designed to offer customers a smarter, more secure, and highly personalized digital banking experience. The bank also launched AAROHAN GCIC (Global Capability, Innovation & Transformation Centre), a strategic hub dedicated to accelerating technology-led transformation, research, innovation, and future-ready banking solutions.
AAROHAN GCIC to Drive Digital Transformation
The newly launched AAROHAN GCIC has been established as a technology and innovation center that will bring together talent, research, emerging technologies, and collaborative expertise to strengthen the bank’s digital capabilities.
The center will support enterprise-wide transformation by leveraging advanced development practices and fostering innovation aimed at delivering modern financial services.
New Digital Banking Solutions Introduced
Among the major digital initiatives announced were:
- Reimagined bob World featuring AI-powered capabilities, hyper-personalized services, multilingual accessibility, advanced fraud protection, and Personal Finance Management tools.
- ADITI 2.0, an AI-powered multilingual virtual banking assistant capable of handling customer interactions through natural voice conversations.
- UPI Global Reverse Acceptance, enabling eligible international visitors to make seamless QR-code payments in India using banking or fintech applications from their home countries.
- NFC-enabled Tap & Transact ATMs, allowing customers to complete ATM transactions simply by tapping their NFC-enabled debit cards, improving convenience and security.
Retail, MSME and Green Finance Expansion
To strengthen its lending portfolio, the bank introduced several new financial products, including:
- bob Elev8 Home Loan, specially designed for young salaried professionals through a structured step-up EMI repayment model.
- bob Swabhoomi Home Loan for purchasing residential plots in RERA-approved projects.
- bob PAL, a digitally enabled overdraft facility against eligible investment securities.
- bob Agniveer Scheme, offering MSME financing of up to ₹5 crore for retired Agniveers establishing or expanding businesses.
- Corporate Invoice Financing to improve liquidity for MSMEs.
- bob Green PLUG, providing financing for EV charging stations, battery-swapping infrastructure, and renewable energy-integrated charging facilities.
- Masterstroke Current Account, offering premium banking benefits for businesses, including higher transaction limits, overdraft facilities, insurance, and digital payment solutions.
Strengthening Financial Inclusion
As part of its commitment to inclusive banking, Bank of Baroda inaugurated 119 new Business Correspondent (BC) outlets across India, expanding access to banking services in rural, remote, unbanked, and underbanked regions.
The bank also introduced Multilingual WhatsApp Banking for Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) customers, enabling account holders to access banking services in their preferred regional language through WhatsApp.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO of Bank of Baroda, emphasized that “Leading with Trust” reflects the institution’s values of integrity, innovation, sustainability, and long-term customer relationships.
He stated that the bank will continue focusing on responsible growth while strengthening trust, innovation, and value creation for customers and stakeholders.

John Peterson, an American banking technology analyst from New York, praised the bank’s emphasis on digital transformation.
“The launch of AI-powered banking platforms, conversational banking, and contactless ATM technology demonstrates that Bank of Baroda is embracing global digital banking trends while improving customer experience.”
Meanwhile, Emily Rogers, an American financial inclusion researcher based in Washington, D.C., highlighted the importance of expanding banking access.
“Opening 119 Business Correspondent outlets and introducing multilingual WhatsApp banking shows a strong commitment to financial inclusion. Expanding digital and physical banking access together is an effective strategy for reaching underserved communities.”
