The ICAR–National Institute of Biotic Stress Management (ICAR-NIBSM), Raipur, organized a special awareness session on “Stress Management and Nature Conservation” as part of the nationwide “Eco Care and Disaster Management” campaign initiated by the Scientists and Engineers Wing of the Brahma Kumaris. The event brought together the institute’s leadership, scientists, researchers, and staff members to emphasize the strong connection between mental well-being and environmental responsibility.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Piyush Goyal, Senior Rajyogi and Delhi Zonal Coordinator of the Scientists and Engineers Wing of the Brahma Kumaris. He highlighted that true resilience begins with inner strength, emotional balance, and a positive state of mind. According to Dr. Goyal, individuals who are mentally strong are better equipped to overcome life’s challenges and effectively respond to external crises.
Speaking on stress management, Dr. Goyal encouraged participants to recognize their inner potential, practice self-appreciation, and develop a positive outlook toward life. He explained that maintaining pure and elevated thoughts naturally enhances mental energy, enabling people to reduce stress and achieve a balanced and fulfilling life.
Addressing the importance of environmental conservation, Dr. Goyal described nature as a nurturing mother and emphasized that protecting the environment is both an individual and collective responsibility. He urged everyone to adopt two key commitments:
- Eliminate the use of single-use plastics to safeguard ecosystems.
- Conserve every drop of water, describing water as one of nature’s most precious gifts that cannot be artificially created.
To reinforce their commitment to sustainable living, all participants took a formal pledge to protect the environment and promote water conservation.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. P. K. Rai, Director of ICAR-NIBSM, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Piyush Goyal for delivering an inspiring and thought-provoking session that highlighted the close relationship between mental health and ecological responsibility.
The program was attended by Joint Director Dr. Anil Dixit, Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Dr. Daisy Bansadrai, along with senior officials, scientists, researchers, and institute staff. The event was coordinated by Dr. S. K. Sharma, who also delivered the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the session.
