Infosys Reports Stable Q1 FY27 Performance; Secures $3.6 Billion in Large Deals, Strengthens AI Business, and Names CEO Designate

Bengaluru, India: Infosys Ltd., one of India’s leading IT services and consulting companies, reported a steady financial performance for the first quarter of FY27, demonstrating resilience despite a cautious global business environment. The company posted revenue of $5.08 billion (₹48,211 crore) while maintaining a healthy operating margin of 21.1% and securing $3.6 billion in large deal wins, reinforcing confidence in its long-term growth strategy.

A significant highlight of the quarter was the company’s announcement that Ashiss Kumar Dash has been appointed CEO Designate, effective immediately. He is scheduled to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director from April 1, 2027, ensuring a smooth leadership transition.

The company reiterated its FY27 guidance, projecting constant currency revenue growth between 1.5% and 3.0%, while maintaining an operating margin in the range of 20%–22%.

AI Business Continues to Accelerate

According to Managing Director and CEO Salil Parekh, the company’s investments in Infosys Topaz, its AI-powered platform, are translating into tangible business outcomes. Approximately 8.2% of Infosys’ total revenue during the quarter came from Artificial Intelligence-related services, highlighting increasing enterprise adoption of AI solutions.

The company also reported $3.6 billion in large deal wins, with 61% classified as net new business, indicating strong demand from global clients despite ongoing macroeconomic uncertainties.

Leadership Transition Announced

The Board of Directors appointed Ashiss Kumar Dash as CEO Designate. A veteran with more than 30 years at Infosys, Dash has held several leadership positions across delivery, operations, and industry verticals. His appointment is expected to ensure continuity in strategy and execution as the company enters its next phase of growth.

American Analysts React

John Matthews, a New York-based technology market analyst, said the quarter demonstrates that Infosys continues to execute effectively despite slower global IT spending.

The strength of Infosys’ large deal pipeline and its ability to maintain margins while expanding AI-driven services reflect disciplined execution. Investors generally view leadership continuity as a positive signal.

Meanwhile, Emily Carter, a California-based enterprise technology consultant, believes the company’s AI strategy is beginning to deliver measurable business value.

Generating more than eight percent of revenue from AI services shows that enterprise AI adoption is moving beyond experimentation. Infosys appears well-positioned to benefit as organizations continue their digital transformation initiatives.
