Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh: A 16-year-old high school student lost his life after suffering a fatal electric shock while attempting to restore power at his home in Khapriteli village of Khairagarh district, Chhattisgarh, on Friday evening.
The victim, Ashish Sahu, a Class 11 student, was reportedly trying to organize and repair electrical wiring inside his house. According to local reports, after completing the wiring work, he reached for the electric switch to turn the power back on. The moment he switched it on, he was struck by a powerful electric current, causing him to collapse instantly.
Family members rushed to his aid after hearing cries from inside the house. They immediately transported him to a nearby hospital, where doctors examined him and declared him dead on arrival.
Police Investigation Underway
Following the incident, local police arrived at the scene to conduct a preliminary investigation. Authorities completed all legal formalities, including a post-mortem examination, before handing over the body to the grieving family.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nitesh Kumar Gautam, the case is currently under investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal accident.
