Focus on Awareness and Public Participation
The programme highlighted that combating substance abuse requires not only government action but also active participation from employees, families, communities and social organisations.
SECL is encouraging greater public participation in awareness initiatives aimed at informing people about the adverse consequences of drug and substance addiction.
Such awareness programmes can play an important role in encouraging individuals to seek healthier lifestyles and helping communities understand the importance of prevention and early intervention.
SECL’s Commitment to a Healthy Society
As one of the major coal-producing companies in the country, SECL has a large workforce and operates across communities in its areas of operation. Initiatives aimed at employee welfare, awareness and social responsibility therefore form an important part of its broader organisational activities.
The pledge programme reinforced the company’s commitment to promoting a healthy, responsible and drug-free environment among its employees and surrounding communities.
The initiative also sought to strengthen the message that every individual can contribute to the larger national objective of creating a society free from substance abuse.
