Santosh Kumar Tiwari appointed Director in Lokpal; Yuvraj Ravindra Patil shifted as Director to DPIIT
New Delhi : The Central Government has appointed two officers as Directors under the Central Staffing Scheme, with one officer being posted to the Lokpal and another shifted to the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT).
The appointments have been approved through orders issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT). The move is part of the Centre’s ongoing administrative restructuring and deployment of experienced officers to key government institutions.
Santosh Kumar Tiwari appointed Director in Lokpal
Shri Santosh Kumar Tiwari, an Indian Statistical Service (ISS) officer of the 2011 batch, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Lokpal under the Department of Personnel & Training.
According to the government order, his appointment will be for a period of five years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The officer has been directed to be relieved immediately so that he can take up his new assignment in Delhi.
The order further states that, in accordance with the directions of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), the officer is required to join the new post within three weeks of the issuance of the order. Failure to join within the stipulated period may result in the initiation of debarment proceedings under the Central Staffing Scheme.
Yuvraj Ravindra Patil shifted to DPIIT
In a separate order, the government has approved the lateral shift of Shri Yuvraj Ravindra Patil, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer of the 2012 batch.
Patil has been appointed as Director in the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT).
His tenure will continue until March 15, 2027, which represents the remaining period of his five-year deputation at the Director level, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Before this appointment, Yuvraj Ravindra Patil was serving as Director in the Lokpal under DoPT. His movement to DPIIT represents a lateral shift within the Central Government’s administrative framework.
What is the Central Staffing Scheme?
The Central Staffing Scheme enables the Central Government to bring experienced officers from different services and cadres to key positions in ministries, departments and other government organisations.
The scheme facilitates the deployment of officers with relevant administrative and professional experience to positions where their expertise can contribute to policymaking, implementation and governance.
Appointments under the scheme are generally made on deputation and are subject to prescribed tenure and service conditions.
