Visakhapatnam, India : In a major boost to India’s clean energy push, N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to lay the foundation stone for a large-scale solar manufacturing facility in the Anakapalli district near Visakhapatnam. The project, spearheaded by ReNew Energy Global Plc, marks a critical step in strengthening domestic solar manufacturing and reducing reliance on imports.
A Strategic Investment in Clean Energy
The upcoming facility will be a 6-gigawatt (GW) solar ingot and wafer manufacturing unit, forming a crucial part of India’s solar supply chain. With an estimated investment of ₹5,400 crore (approximately $650 million USD), the plant will manufacture upstream components such as ingots and wafers—key building blocks for solar panels.
