In a major push to strengthen public safety and emergency response infrastructure, authorities in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh have deployed a new fleet of technologically advanced Dial-112 emergency response vehicles across Bilaspur district.
The upgraded emergency vehicles, equipped with modern surveillance systems and rapid-response technology, were formally flagged off by senior public representatives and police officials during a ceremonial event in Bilaspur.
The initiative is part of a statewide modernization program launched by the Chhattisgarh government, under which more than 400 smart emergency vehicles have been dedicated to public service across the state. The vehicles were officially inaugurated in the state capital Raipur by India’s Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, State Assembly Speaker Raman Singh, and State Home Minister Vijay Sharma.
24 Advanced Emergency Vehicles Assigned to Bilaspur
Under the new deployment plan, Bilaspur district received 24 Dial-112 emergency vehicles. These units have now been stationed across multiple police station and outpost jurisdictions to ensure faster emergency response and wider operational coverage.
Key police jurisdictions including Kota, Masturi, Civil Lines, Sirgitti, Sarkanda, and Koni received two vehicles each, while the remaining vehicles were distributed across other police stations and checkpoints throughout the district.
Officials stated that the upgraded emergency units are designed to respond swiftly to:
- Road accidents
- Traffic congestion
- Smuggling operations
- Theft and robbery cases
- Dacoity and organized crime
- Crimes against women and children
- Fire emergencies
- General law-and-order situations
The vehicles are reportedly equipped with live CCTV camera systems, enhanced communication tools, upgraded safety standards, and advanced monitoring technology aimed at improving both crime prevention and emergency management.
Public Representatives Praise Initiative
Several senior leaders addressed the event virtually and praised the modernization of emergency policing services. Messages of support and congratulations were delivered online by Member of Parliament and Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, Bilaspur MLA Amar Agrawal, and Bilha MLA Dharamlal Kaushik.
Leaders described the Dial-112 system as a crucial public service initiative intended to provide faster assistance to citizens during emergencies and strengthen confidence in law enforcement.
Senior Officials Attend Flag-Off Ceremony
The event was attended by several elected representatives and senior administrative officials, including Takhatpur MLA Dharamjeet Singh, Beltara MLA Sushant Shukla, Masturi MLA Dilip Lahariya, Kota MLA Atal Shrivastava, District Panchayat President Rajesh Suryavanshi, and Bilaspur Mayor Pooja Vidhani.
Senior police and administrative officers present included Inspector General of Police Ramgopal Garg, District Collector Sanjay Agrawal, Senior Superintendent of Police and DIG Rajnesh Singh, Municipal Commissioner Prakash Kumar Sarve, and District Panchayat CEO Sandeep Agrawal.
The ceremony also witnessed participation from local citizens, social organizations, NGOs, and NCC cadets, highlighting strong community involvement in the district’s public safety initiatives.
Officials say the expanded Dial-112 network is expected to significantly improve emergency response times and strengthen law enforcement visibility across Bilaspur district and surrounding areas.
