Senior Leadership Change at Bharat Coking Coal Limited: Anand Kumar Appointed GM & Head of Material Management

Kolkata — Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a key subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has announced a senior management reshuffle as part of its regulatory disclosure obligations under SEBI’s Listing Regulations.

The company confirmed that Parthaasis Ram, who had been serving as General Manager and Head of Department (Material Management), has been transferred to another subsidiary within the Coal India group. Following his transfer, Anand Kumar has been appointed as the new General Manager and HoD (Material Management), effective April 27, 2026.

With this transition, Anand Kumar formally joins the company’s Senior Management Personnel, while Parthaasis Ram ceases to hold the position from the same date.

Anand Kumar brings more than 30 years of extensive experience within BCCL, having started his career with the organization in January 1992. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining Engineering from Nagpur University and is certified with a Second Class Mines Manager’s Certificate of Competency.

Over the course of his career, Kumar has played a critical role in procurement and materials management across multiple operational areas. His experience includes ensuring uninterrupted supply chains for coal washeries, hospital systems, and mining operations. He has also overseen procurement processes for Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM), Underground Mining Machinery (UGMM), medical equipment, and has managed scrap disposal operations—functions vital to maintaining operational continuity in large-scale mining environments.

The leadership change underscores BCCL’s ongoing focus on operational efficiency, continuity in strategic functions, and strengthening its materials management framework—an essential component in supporting coal production and infrastructure maintenance.

BCCL, headquartered in Kolkata, remains one of the major contributors to India’s coal production, particularly in the coking coal segment, which is critical for the steel industry.
