Governor Ramen Deka attended the second convocation ceremony of Dr. C.V. Raman University in Kota, where he awarded PhD degrees to 195 scholars and Gold Medals to 189 students for their academic excellence. On this occasion, he also unveiled the convocation souvenir and other university publications.

In his inspirational address, the Governor emphasized that dedication, discipline, and consistent hard work are the pillars of success. He urged students to carry these values forward in their personal and professional journeys.
“Language is a medium of knowledge, not a barrier”
Governor Deka highlighted that language should never be seen as an obstacle to knowledge. “Knowing English alone does not make one wise,” he remarked. “True knowledge comes when we connect with a language through our mind, heart, and behavior.” He described convocation as not an end, but a new beginning for every graduate.
The ceremony was graced by Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Tokhan Sahu, Chhattisgarh Higher Education Minister Tankaram Verma, Belatra MLA Sushant Shukla, Chancellor Santosh Choubey, Vice Chancellor Dr. Pradeep Kumar Ghosh, Registrar Dr. Arvind Kumar Tiwari, IIT Bhilai Director Prof. Rajeev Prakash, AISECT Group Secretary Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, Collector Sanjay Agrawal, and SSP Rajnesh Singh, along with a large number of faculty members and students.
Hard Work and Discipline: The Path to Achievement
Governor Deka identified determination, hard work, and discipline as the three fundamental pillars of success. He urged students to remain grateful to their parents and society, reminding them that “no matter how successful you become, never forget your roots.” He also stressed the importance of effective time management, calling time and opportunity the greatest forms of capital in one’s life.
Education Should Build Character
The Governor underscored that education is not merely about earning degrees—it’s about character building. He emphasized the need for trust, dialogue, and inspiration between teachers and students. “Learning is a lifelong process,” he said, encouraging students to stay curious and engaged.
At the end of the ceremony, Governor Deka planted a sapling in honor of mothers, symbolizing gratitude and growth.
Union Minister Tokhan Sahu also addressed the students, urging them to transform their dreams into reality through dedication, discipline, and wise use of time. Higher Education Minister Tankaram Verma added that a convocation marks not the end of education, but the beginning of active participation in nation-building.
Chancellor Santosh Choubey presented the university’s annual report and reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence.
