HPCL Logs Record Fuel Movement in Early April, Signals Strong Demand Across India

New Delhi  — Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has reported a robust start to April 2026, recording one of its highest-ever fuel movement volumes during the first ten days of the month. The performance highlights the company’s operational strength and its ability to meet rising nationwide energy demand efficiently.

Record Fuel Sales and Logistics Scale

Between April 1 and April 10, HPCL recorded total fuel movement exceeding 1.07 million kiloliters (10.7 lakh KL). This included:

  • Petrol (Motor Spirit): 379,827 KL
  • Diesel (High-Speed Diesel): 691,189 KL

To support this massive supply operation, the company deployed over 70,540 fuel tankers, ensuring uninterrupted availability across its widespread retail network. The scale and speed of this logistics effort underline HPCL’s capability to handle peak consumption periods without disruption.

LPG Deliveries Remain Strong

HPCL also reported impressive performance in its LPG segment, delivering 14.64 million cylinders (146.4 lakh) during the same period. Despite increased demand, the company maintained timely and efficient delivery nationwide.

Notably, demand for smaller Free Trade LPG cylinders is on the rise:

  • 5 kg cylinders: 294,126 units
  • 2 kg cylinders: 20,112 units

These compact cylinder options are increasingly important for migrant workers, urban renters, and low-income households, offering flexibility and affordability in cooking fuel access.

Digital Ecosystem Enhancing Customer Experience

HPCL’s continued push toward digital transformation is reshaping customer interaction and service delivery:

  • 99.2% of LPG bookings are now completed through digital platforms
  • Deliveries are authenticated using DAC/OTP systems, ensuring transparency and preventing delivery discrepancies

This near-complete digitization has improved efficiency, reduced manual intervention, and strengthened customer trust in the system.

A Key Player in India’s Energy Landscape

As one of India’s leading oil marketing companies, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited operates an extensive infrastructure network that includes refineries, pipelines, LPG bottling plants, terminals, and retail outlets. The company plays a crucial role in ensuring energy accessibility across urban and rural regions alike.

With a strategic focus on digital innovation, operational efficiency, and inclusive energy access, HPCL continues to adapt to evolving consumption patterns while supporting India’s growing energy needs.

Bottom Line:
HPCL’s record-breaking fuel movement and strong LPG delivery performance in early April 2026 reflect not only rising demand but also the company’s ability to scale operations seamlessly—positioning it as a critical pillar in India’s energy supply chain.
