The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has announced the invitation of bids for the licensing of commercial spaces across multiple stations on the Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat corridor, opening up a major opportunity for businesses to partner with India’s first semi-high-speed regional rail network.
According to NCRTC, the initiative is aimed at creating people-friendly commercial hubs within stations to enhance commuter convenience while ensuring sustainable and revenue-generating station operations.
706 sqm of commercial area across 10 locations
The tender covers about 706 square metres of commercial area, consisting of both built-up and bare spaces across 10 key stations on the corridor. These include:
- Ghaziabad
- Duhai
- Modinagar South
- Modinagar North
- Partapur
- Shatabdi Nagar
Examples of spaces on offer include 120 sqm at Ghaziabad Station, 100 sqm at Partapur, and 130 sqm at Partapur, among others.
Spaces for commuter-centric businesses
The commercial spaces will be licensed on an “as-is-where-is” basis, allowing bidders to develop facilities such as:
- Convenience stores
- Food and snack kiosks
- Service shops
- Essential retail outlets
The purpose is to support seamless commuter experience by providing access to daily-use amenities within station premises.
Responsibilities of selected bidders
Selected partners will be responsible for:
- Setting up and operating their commercial units
- Maintaining safety, cleanliness and accessibility standards
- Adhering to NCRTC’s operational and design guidelines
In return, commercial operators get to associate with one of the most reputable and modern public transport projects in the country — the Namo Bharat semi-high-speed rail system, which is set to reshape mobility across the National Capital Region.
Strategic opportunity for businesses
With daily footfalls expected to rise significantly as the corridor expands, the tender provides a strategic and high-visibility opportunity for businesses, startups and franchise operators to secure commercial presence inside well-connected transit locations.
