New Delhi, India — The Government of India has appointed Ashish Kumar Shukla as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the Sports Authority of India (SAI), according to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on April 10, 2026.
Shukla, a 2010-batch officer of the Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS), has been appointed for an initial tenure of three years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The appointment falls under the administrative purview of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Appointment Details
As per the official Office Memorandum, Shukla will serve at Pay Level 13 in the government pay matrix, which corresponds to a salary range of ₹1,23,100 to ₹2,15,900.
He will be relieved from his current position in the Department of Defence Production to take up his new assignment at SAI’s headquarters in New Delhi.
Key Responsibilities
In his role as Chief Vigilance Officer, Shukla will oversee and strengthen the vigilance framework within SAI. His responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring transparency and accountability in organizational processes
- Implementing preventive vigilance mechanisms
- Monitoring compliance with governance standards
- Advising the organization on integrity and anti-corruption measures

The appointment was finalized after consultation with the Central Vigilance Commission, in line with established procedures for senior vigilance positions in government bodies.
The official order was issued from Kartavya Bhavan-3 in New Delhi and has been circulated to all relevant authorities for implementation.
