UP BJP Core Committee Meets in Lucknow, Service Campaign and 2027 Poll Preparations Discussed

BJP leaders review preparations for the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17 and chalk out strategy for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections

Lucknow: A meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Uttar Pradesh core group was held at the party’s state headquarters in Lucknow, with senior leaders discussing the upcoming ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ and preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

The meeting was attended by BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santosh, Uttar Pradesh in-charge Vinod Tawde and co-in-charge Jagdish Patel. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, state BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, along with other senior organisational leaders, were also present.

A major part of the meeting focused on the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which will be organised across Uttar Pradesh from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.

Seva Sankalp Abhiyan to Run for One Month

Speaking after the meeting, BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary said several programmes would be organised across the state during the month-long campaign.

He said the meeting discussed the proposed activities and the organisational arrangements required to conduct them across Uttar Pradesh. Party workers and leaders will be involved in various public outreach and service-oriented programmes during the campaign.

Chaudhary also said that the upcoming Assembly elections were discussed in detail, given that the polls are drawing closer.

The discussions included the issues the BJP would take to voters and the strategy for securing another decisive mandate in the state.

BJP Begins Preparations for 2027 Assembly Elections

The BJP leadership also reviewed its broader election strategy for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said the meeting focused on taking the achievements of the BJP-led “double-engine” government to the people.

According to Maurya, the party intends to highlight the work undertaken by the state and central governments as well as various welfare schemes launched for the public.

He said the BJP would work towards securing a strong majority once again in 2027 and forming the government for a third consecutive term in Uttar Pradesh.

BJP Hits Back at Akhilesh Yadav

The BJP leaders also responded to statements by Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, who has been claiming that his party will return to power in Uttar Pradesh.

Pankaj Chaudhary dismissed the claim as unrealistic and described it as a “Mungeeri Lal ke haseen sapne” (an unrealistic dream).

Maurya also criticised Yadav’s statements, saying that the Samajwadi Party leader was merely making political claims.

He said the BJP would once again receive the people’s mandate and form the government with a majority in the 2027 elections.

New State Working Committee to Be Formed Soon

The BJP state president also said the formation of the new Uttar Pradesh BJP state working committee was discussed during the meeting.

Chaudhary said he had taken charge as state president only recently and the process of forming the new state executive was now underway. He held discussions on the matter with the national organisation leadership, state in-charge, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers and other senior organisational functionaries.

He indicated that the new state working committee would be constituted soon.

CM Yogi to Address Press Conference

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was welcomed at the BJP state headquarters by state president Pankaj Chaudhary with a bouquet before the core committee meeting began.

After the meeting, it was decided that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath would hold a press conference at the BJP office the following day, where further details regarding the party’s plans and programmes are expected to be shared.
