CM Sai participates in Raksha Bandhan and ‘Samvad with Sisters’ programme at Pandripani; announces Mahatari Sadan in Farsabahar and Bhelwa
Raipur : The spirit of Raksha Bandhan, symbolising the bond of affection, trust and togetherness between brothers and sisters, came alive at Pandripani village in Farsabahar development block of Jashpur district on Wednesday.
A large number of women from the region tied rakhi on the wrist of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, who reciprocated by presenting gifts and expressing his affection and respect for them.
Speaking at the ‘Raksha Bandhan and Samvad with Sisters’ programme, CM Sai interacted with women and listened to their concerns. He said Raksha Bandhan is not only a celebration of the brother-sister relationship but also an opportunity to reaffirm the responsibility towards women’s respect, safety and secure future.
He said the state government is working to ensure that women across Chhattisgarh become self-reliant, receive greater opportunities and have a stronger role in decision-making within their families and society.
Women’s Empowerment Key to State’s Development
CM Sai said that women’s respect and empowerment are the strong foundations of a prosperous Chhattisgarh.
“When women become economically and socially empowered, it has a positive impact on the entire family. Prosperous families, in turn, contribute to the progress of society and the state,” he said.
He added that the government’s programmes are focused on women’s dignity, self-reliance and a better future.
Development Projects Worth Around ₹64 Lakh at Pandripani
During the programme, the Chief Minister inaugurated and performed the bhoomi pujan for various development projects worth approximately ₹64 lakh in Pandripani.
This included the inauguration of a Mahatari Sadan, which has been developed as a dedicated space for women’s collective activities, training and livelihood initiatives.
The facility includes a meeting hall, training facilities, kitchen and toilets. It is expected to provide women’s self-help groups and organisations with a convenient space for meetings, training programmes and livelihood activities.
CM Sai also announced the construction of Mahatari Sadans in Farsabahar and Bhelwa gram panchayats.
In addition, he announced approval of ₹3.23 crore for construction of a road from the main road to Dani Moda Basti.
Mahatari Vandan Scheme Provides Financial Support
Highlighting the state government’s Mahatari Vandan Yojana, CM Sai said women in the state are receiving ₹1,000 per month in financial assistance under the scheme.
He said the assistance is helping women meet their day-to-day needs while strengthening their financial confidence.
According to the Chief Minister, more than 67 lakh women recently received over ₹631 crore as the 31st instalment of the scheme.
The September instalment was released in advance ahead of Raksha Bandhan so that beneficiaries could celebrate the festival with greater enthusiasm, he said.
CM Sai added that the government’s objective goes beyond providing financial assistance. It also aims to connect women’s skills with economic opportunities and strengthen their participation in family and community development.
Self-Help Groups Receive Financial Assistance
During the programme, CM Sai distributed financial assistance cheques to women’s self-help groups for expanding their livelihood and economic activities.
The following groups received assistance:
- Mongra Self-Help Group, Bhagora: ₹1.50 lakh
- Vaishnavi Self-Help Group, Kandaibahar: ₹1.50 lakh
- Chand Self-Help Group, Kandaibahar: ₹1.50 lakh
- Pratigya Group, Bada Basti: ₹1 lakh
CM Sai said self-help groups are strengthening the rural economy while providing women with an effective pathway towards self-reliance.
Government Services Going Digital
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state government’s efforts to make public services more accessible.
He said more than 700 services across 36 departments are now available online through Seva Setu, reducing the need for citizens to visit government offices repeatedly.
He added that Atal Digital Seva Kendras are being established to promote financial inclusion in rural areas.
For faster resolution of public grievances, the government has also launched Chief Minister Helpline 1076, he said.
Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts for Girls
During the event, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account passbooks were presented to girls Meenakshi Yadav and Shreya Painkra.
The programme also highlighted initiatives aimed at ensuring the financial security and future of girl children.
CM Sai said providing daughters with equal opportunities in education, safety and personal development remains a government priority.
Property Records Distributed Under SVAMITVA Scheme
Five beneficiaries also received property documents under the SVAMITVA Scheme.
The beneficiaries included:
- Harawati from Bokhi
- Jagmani from Wangao
- Rajmani from Konpara
- Lakshmi from Bhagora
- Sumitra from Telain
The documents provide beneficiaries with legal records and documentary security related to their property.
MLA Gomti Sai Calls CM ‘Vishnu Bhaiya’ of Chhattisgarh’s Sisters
Addressing the programme, Pathalgaon MLA Gomti Sai welcomed the women present and highlighted the state government’s focus on women’s dignity and economic independence.
She said the Mahatari Vandan Yojana is providing monthly financial assistance to women, while Mahatari Sadans are giving women in rural areas a dedicated and respectful space for meetings, training and other activities.
She also described the opening of an SBI branch at Pandripani as an important development for the region and expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister.
Gomti Sai said that CM Vishnu Deo Sai is regarded as ‘Vishnu Bhaiya’ by the sisters of Chhattisgarh and is continuously working for their respect, safety, self-reliance and welfare.
The programme was attended by Pathalgaon MLA Gomti Sai, Collector Rohit Vyas, SSP Dr Lal Umed Singh, District Panchayat CEO Abhishek Kumar, other public representatives and officials, along with a large number of women from the region.
