Vilas Sopan Wadekar Given Additional Charge as Projects Director at MRVC


New Delhi : The Government of India has assigned additional responsibilities to senior railway executive Vilas Sopan Wadekar, who will now also serve as Director (Project) at Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Limited (MRVC), alongside his current role as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD).

The decision, approved by the Ministry of Railways, will take effect on or after April 1, 2026, and will remain in place for three months or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.

Wadekar will continue to lead MRVC as CMD while simultaneously overseeing project execution as Director (Project). This dual role is intended to ensure continuity and efficiency in managing critical infrastructure initiatives.

MRVC is a key government-owned organization responsible for implementing major suburban railway development projects in Mumbai, one of the worldโ€™s busiest urban rail networks.
