NTPC Opens Applications for 250 Assistant Executive Roles in Operations; Deadline Set for May 7


New Delhi : NTPC Limited, India’s largest integrated power utility, has announced a major recruitment drive for 250 Assistant Executive (Operation) positions under Advertisement No. 05/26. The hiring initiative is aimed at strengthening operational capabilities across its power plants, subsidiaries, and joint ventures.

The online application process began on April 23, 2026, and will remain open until May 7, 2026, offering a limited window for eligible engineering candidates to apply.

Position Details and Compensation

The role of Assistant Executive (Operation) is being offered on a fixed-term basis for three years, with the possibility of extension by an additional two years based on performance and organizational requirements.

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly salary of ₹55,000, along with several benefits, including:

  • House Rent Allowance (HRA) or company-provided accommodation
  • Night shift allowance
  • Medical facilities for employees and their families

With an installed capacity of approximately 89 GW and ambitious plans to scale up to 149 GW by 2032, NTPC’s expansion strategy makes this recruitment a significant opportunity for professionals seeking hands-on experience in India’s fast-growing power sector.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 40% marks from a recognized university
  • Relaxation for SC/ST/PwBD candidates, who are eligible with passing marks

Experience:

  • At least one year of post-qualification experience
  • Experience in operation or maintenance of power plants with a capacity of 40 MW or above

Age Limit:

  • Maximum age of 35 years
  • Age relaxation applicable as per Government of India norms

Job Responsibilities

Candidates selected for the role will be responsible for:

  • Operating and supervising power plant equipment
  • Ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards
  • Troubleshooting technical issues in real time
  • Following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Working in rotational shifts, including night duties

Postings may be assigned at any NTPC facility across India, including subsidiaries and joint ventures, with roles being transferable based on operational needs.
