GAURELA-PENDRA-MARWAHI, India — A six-year-old child had a miraculous escape after a speeding SUV crashed into parked motorcycles just feet away from where the child was playing outside a home. The terrifying incident, captured on CCTV, has reignited concerns over reckless driving and road safety in busy residential and market areas.
According to local authorities, the child was standing near a parked motorcycle on Amarkantak Road in the Gaurela area when a high-speed Maruti Brezza SUV suddenly veered off its path. The vehicle slammed into the parked motorcycles before speeding away from the scene without stopping.
The CCTV footage shows the SUV swerving moments before impact, missing the child by what witnesses estimated was less than one foot. The dramatic video has spread widely, leaving residents shocked by how close the youngster came to being struck.
Although the child escaped without physical injuries, several parked motorcycles were damaged in the collision. Family members and nearby residents rushed to the scene immediately after the crash, but the driver had already fled.
