New Delhi : The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has opened applications for the position of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) at National Textile Corporation Limited (NTC), a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise operating under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
The CMD role is one of the top executive positions in the organization and carries a pay scale of ₹80,000–₹125,000 (IDA). The appointment will be for a tenure of five years from the date of assumption of charge or until the date of superannuation, whichever is earlier.
About National Textile Corporation
National Textile Corporation was established to manage sick textile units that were taken over by the Government of India under various nationalization acts. As part of a major restructuring initiative approved in 2006, the corporation consolidated its nine subsidiaries into a single unified entity.
As of March 31, 2026, NTC employs approximately 3,534 personnel. The company has an authorized capital of ₹5,000 crore and a paid-up capital of ₹3,062.16 crore, with the Government of India holding a 99.76% stake. Its headquarters is located in New Delhi.
Role and Responsibilities
The CMD serves as the chief executive of NTC and is accountable to the Board of Directors and government stakeholders. The position requires strategic leadership to guide the organization’s long-term vision, ensure operational efficiency, and drive financial and business performance.

Eligibility Criteria
Employment Status:
Applicants must be in regular employment in one of the following categories:
- Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs)
- Central Government Group ‘A’ services, Armed Forces, or All India Services
- State Public Sector Enterprises with an annual turnover of ₹1,500 crore or more
- Private sector companies, joint ventures, or federations with a turnover of ₹1,500 crore or more
Educational Qualifications:
Candidates must possess one of the following:
- Engineering degree
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant qualification
- Graduate or postgraduate degree with an MBA or PGDIM
Experience:
Applicants should have at least five years of senior-level experience in fields such as finance, business development, production, operations, marketing, or project management. Candidates with core HR or industrial relations experience must also demonstrate exposure to broader business functions. Experience in the textile sector will be considered an added advantage.
Pay and Appointment Terms
The position offers a pay scale of ₹80,000–₹125,000 (IDA). Candidates currently serving in Central Government roles will be appointed on an immediate absorption basis.
Notably, candidates who decline the offer after selection or appointment may face a two-year debarment from consideration for board-level positions in Central Public Sector Enterprises.
