One-Day Training Programme on Organic-Based Farming Held in Mungeli District

Mungeli, Chhattisgarh: A one-day training programme on organic-based farming and sustainable agricultural practices was organized in Mungeli district with the objective of promoting chemical-free farming, improving soil fertility, protecting the environment, and creating awareness among farmers about the benefits of organic agriculture.

The programme was inaugurated by Anna Sapare, State Coordinator, and Jitendra Kumar Sahu, Co-Coordinator, who attended the event as the chief speakers. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp before the portraits of Goddess Saraswati and Bharat Mata.

During the training session, Jitendra Kumar Sahu provided detailed information on various aspects of organic farming. He explained the importance of maintaining soil fertility through natural farming methods and highlighted the need to reduce excessive dependence on chemical fertilizers and pesticides. He also discussed the potential health and environmental concerns associated with indiscriminate use of chemical inputs in agriculture.

Sahu particularly emphasized the importance of cow dung and cow urine in organic agriculture and explained their possible uses in preparing natural agricultural inputs. Participants were also given information about methods of preparing organic pesticides and their application in farming.

The training also covered the preparation and use of organic manure for kitchen gardens and vegetable gardens. Participants were informed about various methods of preparing organic fertilizers and the appropriate ways of using them to improve soil health and support crop growth.

The programme focused on encouraging farmers to adopt organic farming practices and increasing awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture. The speakers emphasized that organic-based farming can play an important role in maintaining soil quality and promoting environmentally responsible agricultural practices.

Anna Sapare explained the key features and objectives of the training programme in detail. He encouraged the participants to understand the long-term importance of organic-based agriculture and consider sustainable farming practices for the future. He also highlighted the relevance of organic farming in addressing concerns related to soil health, agricultural sustainability and environmental protection.

The training programme was attended by District Coordinator Gaukarn Dindole and Rameshwar Prasad Sahu, along with participants and representatives from all three development blocks of the district.

Among those present were Vijay Yadav, Balraj Singh Thakur, Umesh Kumar Sahu, Ram Yadav, Deepak Kumar Vaishnav, Shivkumar Tandon, Nandram Markam, Bhishma Narayan Khusro, Subhash Chandra Chaturvedi, Dhan Singh Diwakar, Uttam Singh Solanki, Mahendra Patel, Ravikant Manhar, Deepak Dhruv, Buddhu Sahu, Daluram Sahu, Salikram Sahu, Ganesh Bunkar, Guman Sahu, Dharmendra Jangde, and several other participants.

The programme was conducted by District Coordinator Gaukarn Dindole, who served as the stage coordinator. Lekhram Sahu delivered the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the programme and expressed gratitude to the speakers, organizers and all participants for their presence and contribution.

The organizers stated that such training programmes are intended to strengthen awareness about organic farming and encourage farmers to adopt practices that support soil health, sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation.
