NTPC Expands Community Healthcare and Wellness Infrastructure in Secunderabad

New Delhi / Secunderabad: State-owned power giant NTPC Limited has strengthened its commitment to community development by rolling out a comprehensive healthcare and wellness initiative in Secunderabad. The program focuses on improving access to essential medical services while promoting preventive health through fitness infrastructure.

As part of the initiative, NTPC has equipped 14 healthcare centres with modern medical equipment, enhancing their capacity to provide timely and effective treatment. In addition, the company has developed seven open-air gyms at key locations, aimed at encouraging physical activity and healthier lifestyles among local residents.

Leadership and Inauguration

The projects were officially inaugurated by G. Kishan Reddy, who also serves as the Member of Parliament from Secunderabad. The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior NTPC officials, including Regional Executive Director Arindam Sinha and CGM (HR) Surya Narayan Panigrahi, reflecting strong institutional support for the initiative.

Strengthening Public Health at the Grassroots

The healthcare upgrades are expected to significantly improve diagnostic and treatment capabilities at the local level, reducing the burden on larger hospitals and making basic healthcare more accessible to nearby communities. The addition of open gyms complements this effort by promoting preventive healthcareโ€”encouraging citizens to adopt active lifestyles that can reduce long-term health risks.

A Holistic Approach to Community Development

This initiative highlights NTPCโ€™s integrated approach to corporate social responsibility, combining curative healthcare support with preventive wellness infrastructure. By addressing both treatment and fitness, the company aims to create a sustainable impact on community well-being.

Broader Impact

The program is particularly significant for communities located around NTPCโ€™s operational areas, where access to quality healthcare and fitness facilities may be limited. With this dual-focus model, NTPC is not only improving healthcare delivery but also fostering a culture of health awareness and proactive wellness.

Overall, the initiative reinforces NTPCโ€™s ongoing mission to enhance quality of life through targeted social investments, aligning infrastructure development with long-term public health goals.
