Jharsuguda : NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has strengthened its commitment to sustainable community development by successfully training 210 youth under its skill development programme at the NLC Talabira Thermal Power Project (NTTPP) in Jharsuguda, Odisha. The initiative is aimed at empowering Project Affected Families (PAFs) by enhancing employability and creating self-employment opportunities.
Under the programme, 30 participants completed training in the Industrial Electrician trade, while 180 youth were trained in the Self-Employed Tailor trade, equipping them with practical skills for sustainable livelihoods.
In the latest phase of the initiative, 60 trainees successfully completed the Self-Employed Tailor programme and were awarded certificates and sewing machines during a ceremony attended by the Collector & District Magistrate of Jharsuguda and Santosh C. S., Executive Director & Project Head, NTTPP.
Further expanding the programme, another 60 youth have been enrolled in the next batch of tailoring training, bringing NLCIL closer to its target of training 300 participants under the Self-Employed Tailor programme.
The company said the initiative reflects its continued focus on community development, livelihood enhancement, and inclusive growth, while supporting the Government of India’s flagship initiatives Skill India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
