New link between New Dadri Junction and MMLH entry point to strengthen last-mile freight connectivity
Greater Noida : The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) has commenced construction of the external connectivity link between New Dadri Junction and the entry point of the Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (MMLH) at Greater Noida.
The construction was formally initiated by DFCCIL Managing Director Praveen Kumar, marking a significant step towards strengthening last-mile freight connectivity for the logistics and industrial ecosystem in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The new connectivity link is aimed at improving the movement of freight between the railway network and the logistics hub, supporting more efficient cargo handling and transportation for industries in the region.
Strategic Location of Greater Noida MMLH
The MMLH at Dadri occupies a strategically important location near the intersection of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) and Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).
The logistics hub is being developed as an integrated freight-handling facility designed to bring together different elements of the logistics chain, including warehousing, cargo handling and customs-related services.
Its location near the dedicated freight corridors is expected to facilitate the movement of cargo between different regions while supporting rail-based freight transportation.
Improving Last-Mile Freight Connectivity
The external connectivity between New Dadri Junction and the MMLH is intended to address the last-mile movement of freight between the main railway junction and the logistics terminal.
The project is expected to:
- Improve the movement of freight between New Dadri Junction and the MMLH.
- Reduce bottlenecks in the movement of industrial and export cargo.
- Support more efficient integration of rail and road-based logistics.
- Strengthen connectivity for industries operating across the NCR and western Uttar Pradesh.
- Contribute to more streamlined cargo movement through the dedicated freight corridor network.
Efficient last-mile connectivity is an important component of logistics infrastructure, as delays at the interface between railway terminals, roads and logistics facilities can add to transportation time and costs.

The construction commencement event was attended by senior DFCCIL officials involved in infrastructure and project execution.

The commencement of the connectivity project represents another step in the development of supporting infrastructure around the dedicated freight corridor network.
With the EDFC and WDFC providing high-capacity freight rail connectivity, projects such as the MMLH and its external rail connectivity are intended to strengthen the integration of freight transportation, warehousing and distribution infrastructure.
The development is expected to support the broader logistics ecosystem of the NCR and facilitate more efficient movement of industrial cargo through one of North India’s key freight corridors.
