CCL targets 500 congenital heart disease surgeries by February 2027 as CSR programme continues to support children across Jharkhand
New Delhi : Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) has completed 300 successful congenital heart disease surgeries under its flagship CSR initiative ‘Nanha Sa Dil’, marking a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to provide free cardiac treatment to children.
The initiative provides children diagnosed with congenital heart conditions with access to screening, treatment, surgery and post-operative care without financial burden on their families. CCL has set a target of completing 500 surgeries by February 2027.
CMD Meets Beneficiary Children and Families
To mark the milestone, CCL Chairman and Managing Director Nilendu Kumar Singh met beneficiary children and their families at the Spandan Auditorium at CCL Headquarters.
The interaction provided an opportunity to review the health of children who had undergone treatment and hear directly from their families about their experiences.
Senior officials, including CCL’s Directors of Finance, Human Resources, Technical/Operations and Planning & Projects, were also present during the programme.
Free Cardiac Treatment for Children
Under the ‘Nanha Sa Dil’ programme, children with suspected congenital heart disease are first identified through screening and primary treatment camps conducted across districts of Jharkhand.
Children requiring specialised intervention are subsequently referred for treatment at super-specialty hospitals. The programme covers the treatment and surgery costs as well as necessary post-operative support, enabling families from economically weaker backgrounds to access specialised cardiac care.
The completion of 300 surgeries represents the treatment of 300 children who required medical intervention for congenital heart conditions.
Five Children Honoured with ‘Gift of Life Certificates’
As part of the milestone programme, five beneficiary children between one and 11 years of age, along with their parents, were honoured with ‘Gift of Life Certificates’.
The recognition highlighted the children’s recovery and the support extended to their families through the CSR initiative.
Parents of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to CCL, saying that the programme had provided critical medical support and renewed hope at a time when they were struggling to arrange treatment for their children.

With 300 surgeries already completed, CCL is continuing the initiative with a target of reaching 500 successful congenital heart disease surgeries by February 2027.
The programme combines early identification through screening with access to specialised treatment, surgery and follow-up care, creating a complete support chain for children requiring cardiac intervention.
‘300 Surgeries, 300 New Hopes’
Speaking on the occasion, CCL CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh described the milestone as more than just a numerical achievement.
“Today is not just about completing 300 surgeries; it is about adding new hope to 300 little heartbeats. The smiles of these children and the joy in their parents’ eyes are our greatest achievement.”
The initiative reflects CCL’s focus on healthcare under its corporate social responsibility programmes, particularly in supporting children who require specialised medical treatment but may face financial barriers to accessing it.
With the next milestone set at 500 surgeries, CCL plans to continue expanding the reach of ‘Nanha Sa Dil’ and provide cardiac care to more children in need across Jharkhand.
