Jashpur, Chhattisgarh — Chhattisgarh Cabinet Minister OP Choudhary on Sunday chaired a high-level review meeting in Jashpur district, warning government officials that negligence in development work in the Chief Minister’s home district would not be tolerated.
The meeting was held at the District Panchayat conference hall in Jashpurnagar, where senior administrative officers, public representatives, and department heads reviewed the progress of multiple government welfare and infrastructure projects.
“No Negligence Will Be Tolerated”
Addressing officials during the meeting, Minister Choudhary emphasized that Jashpur holds special importance as it is the home district of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
He instructed departments to ensure that all development works are completed within the stipulated timelines while maintaining high quality standards.
The minister also issued a stern warning regarding commemorative foundation plaques installed after project inaugurations and groundbreaking ceremonies.
According to Choudhary, all plaques related to completed or inaugurated projects must be properly installed in villages and project locations. He warned that strict action would be taken against officials if plaques were found abandoned or not displayed at designated sites.
Focus on Women’s Economic Empowerment
A major focus of the review meeting was women’s financial independence and rural livelihood development.
The minister highlighted the state government’s “Mahtari Vandan Yojana,” under which eligible women receive ₹1,000 every month. He said the initiative is helping women create savings and support their children’s future.
Choudhary also promoted the “Mahtari Shakti Loan Scheme,” which provides loans of up to ₹25,000 at low interest rates to help women start self-employment ventures and small businesses.
He said the ongoing “Good Governance Festival” campaign aims to improve administrative efficiency and ensure faster implementation of welfare programs across districts.
Push for Housing and Agricultural Development
During the meeting, the minister directed officials to accelerate construction work under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to ensure timely completion of housing projects for beneficiaries.
The agriculture department was instructed to maintain adequate availability of fertilizers and seeds for farmers ahead of the cultivation season.
Officials were also asked to expand awareness and implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, a federal rooftop solar initiative designed to provide free electricity benefits to households.
Additionally, the minister encouraged departments to promote fish farming as well as banana and lychee cultivation among farmers to diversify rural income sources.
Major Development Projects Underway in Jashpur
District Collector Rohit Vyas informed the meeting that several major projects announced by the Chief Minister are progressing rapidly across the district.
Key projects currently under development include:
- A new medical college,
- Government nursing college,
- Natural therapy and wellness center,
- Critical care medical facility,
- Hospitals being developed through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding.
Officials also shared updates on the construction of an archery training center for children belonging to the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) community of Pahadi Korwa in Pandarapath village of Sanna block.
Other major projects include:
- The Adventure Sports Mayali Project in Kunkuri Saliyatoli,
- Nalanda campus development projects in Jashpur and Kunkuri.
CCTV Expansion Planned for Better Policing
Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umed Singh stressed the need to install more CCTV cameras at major intersections and public areas across the district.
According to police officials, expanded surveillance infrastructure would strengthen law enforcement capabilities and help control criminal activities.
The SSP also mentioned ongoing helmet and seatbelt awareness campaigns, stating that more than 2,000 public awareness videos have been circulated on social media platforms to encourage road safety compliance.
Multiple Departments Reviewed
The review meeting covered the functioning and implementation status of several departments and welfare schemes, including:
- Rural employment programs,
- Housing schemes,
- Healthcare,
- Education,
- Forest department projects,
- Water resources,
- Agriculture,
- Animal husbandry,
- Fisheries,
- Horticulture,
- Sports and youth welfare initiatives.
Public representatives attending the meeting also shared recommendations related to local infrastructure and public welfare needs.
Among those present were legislators, district officials, and senior administrators including Raimuni Bhagat, Gomti Sai, Salik Sai, Arvind Bhagat, Shaurya Pratap Singh Judev, Abhishek Kumar, Shashi Kumar, and Pradeep Kumar Sahu.
Concluding the meeting, Minister Choudhary stated that Jashpur district has received a record number of approved development projects compared to the past decade. He instructed officials to maintain close coordination with elected representatives to ensure smooth and transparent implementation of all government initiatives.
