BILASPUR, India: In a significant milestone for women’s empowerment and inclusive healthcare, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has celebrated the first anniversary of Coal India’s first fully women-operated dispensary, the Vasant Vihar Dispensary. Over the past year, the facility has successfully provided high-quality healthcare services to SECL employees and their dependents while being managed entirely by an all-women team of doctors and healthcare professionals.
The anniversary celebration was held in the presence of SECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Harish Duhan, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. The ceremony began with a cake-cutting celebration, marking one year of the dispensary’s dedicated service and achievements.
The event brought together the women doctors and healthcare professionals of Vasant Vihar Dispensary, along with doctors from Indira Health Centre and other members of SECL’s medical staff. During the program, participants reflected on the dispensary’s successful journey and its contribution to delivering compassionate, accessible, and quality medical care.
Addressing the gathering, CMD Harish Duhan described the all-women-operated dispensary as a matter of immense pride for SECL and a landmark achievement for Coal India. He emphasized that women are continuously demonstrating exceptional leadership, professionalism, and excellence across every sector, and the dispensary stands as a powerful example of their growing role in strengthening the organization’s healthcare system.
He further stated that SECL has an ambitious vision to transform the Vasant Vihar Dispensary into a Center of Excellence in the coming years. According to him, the company is committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure while creating more opportunities for women to lead in critical operational roles.
The celebration was attended by Chief Medical Services (CMS) Dr. Shruti Dev Mishra, Deputy Chief Medical Services (Dy. CMS) Dr. Arihant Jain, and Deputy Medical Superintendent & In-charge of Vasant Vihar Dispensary, Dr. Nazia Mohammadi, along with doctors, nurses, and healthcare staff from Vasant Vihar Dispensary and Indira Health Centre.
