Lalit Modi Alleges BCCI VP Rajeev Shukla’s Secretary Linked to IPL Blackmail Racket

A fresh controversy has erupted around the Indian Premier League (IPL) after former IPL Chairman Lalit Modi made sensational allegations regarding an alleged blackmail racket involving an aspiring cricketer.

According to reports, a young cricketer aspiring to secure an IPL contract was allegedly threatened and blackmailed after refusing to pay a commission that was reportedly demanded in exchange for helping him obtain an IPL deal. The matter gained major attention after Lalit Modi publicly reacted to the incident on social media.

In a strongly worded statement, Modi claimed that the individual allegedly involved in the racket is “shockingly” the secretary of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice-President Rajeev Shukla. Modi said he had learned this information through his sources and called for a serious investigation into the matter.

“This needs to be seriously looked into. How low can people go,” Modi stated while reacting to the allegations.

The claims have triggered widespread debate across cricket circles and social media, with many fans and analysts demanding transparency and accountability from cricket administrators. However, as of now, no official confirmation has been issued by either the BCCI or Rajeev Shukla regarding the allegations made by Lalit Modi.

The alleged victim reportedly refused to pay the demanded percentage or commission related to the IPL contract, after which he was allegedly threatened and pressured. Details regarding the exact amount involved or the identities of other people connected to the case have not yet been officially disclosed.

The controversy comes at a time when the IPL, one of the world’s richest and most influential cricket leagues, continues to face scrutiny over issues related to player management, agent influence, and financial dealings behind the scenes.

Cricket experts believe that if the allegations are proven true, the matter could seriously damage the reputation of individuals associated with Indian cricket administration and may prompt calls for stricter oversight in player recruitment processes.

So far, there has been no police statement or formal investigation publicly announced regarding the alleged blackmail racket. The cricketing community is now waiting to see whether the BCCI or law enforcement authorities will take further action in response to the explosive allegations.
