Two Drug Traffickers Arrested in Hyderabad with Hash Oil Worth Rs 1.75 Crore

Accused were allegedly transporting the consignment from Odisha; police seized 14.2 kg of hash oil and a motorcycle

Hyderabad: Malkajgiri police have busted an alleged interstate hash oil trafficking network with the arrest of two persons and the seizure of 14.2 kg of hash oil valued at approximately Rs 1.75 crore.

The operation was conducted jointly by the LB Nagar Special Operations Team (SOT) and Nagole police. The accused were intercepted on Nagole–Gouravelli Road while allegedly transporting the contraband from Odisha to Hyderabad.

Police Commissioner Shares Details

Malkajgiri Police Commissioner Sumathi said the two accused were allegedly carrying hash oil worth Rs 1.75 crore from Odisha to Telangana.

The accused have been identified as Talle Nagaraju and Nagula Narayana alias Kiran, both residents of Alluri Sitharama Raju district in Andhra Pradesh.

Police also seized the motorcycle allegedly used to transport the contraband.

Rural Routes Used to Avoid Police Checks

According to the investigation, a supplier identified as Tamra Gopal, reportedly from Odisha, had contacted the two accused and allegedly offered them Rs 1 lakh each to transport the hash oil from the Odisha border to Hyderabad.

The accused allegedly chose rural and interior routes while travelling by motorcycle in an attempt to avoid police checkpoints and routine inspections.

However, police teams reportedly began monitoring and following them after they entered Hyderabad’s limits, eventually intercepting them on Nagole–Gouravelli Road.

Main Supplier Remains Absconding

Police said both arrested suspects have previous criminal records.

According to investigators, Narayana had earlier been accused in a case involving the alleged trafficking of 140 kg of ganja, while Nagaraju had reportedly faced a case involving 10 kg of ganja.

The alleged main supplier, Tamra Gopal, is currently absconding. Police have launched a search to locate him.

Investigators are also examining the wider drug-delivery network and trying to identify other individuals allegedly involved in the interstate trafficking operation.

What Is Hash Oil?

Hash oil, also known as cannabis oil or hashish oil, is a highly concentrated extract derived from the cannabis plant. It generally contains significantly higher concentrations of psychoactive cannabinoids than traditional cannabis.

The potency of cannabis extracts can vary considerably depending on the extraction method and product. Because highly concentrated cannabis products can contain substantially higher levels of THC, they can produce stronger intoxicating effects and carry increased risks of adverse reactions.

Police have described the seized substance as hash oil and valued the confiscated consignment at approximately Rs 1.75 crore.

The investigation into the alleged interstate trafficking network is continuing.
