New Delhi — India’s Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has invited applications for the position of Director (Projects) at Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a state-owned Maharatna enterprise under the Ministry of Power. The high-level board appointment offers a significant leadership role in overseeing the country’s critical power transmission infrastructure.

The Director (Projects) will serve as a member of POWERGRID’s Board of Directors and report directly to the Chairman and Managing Director. The role is central to ensuring the timely execution and commissioning of power transmission projects across India, while maintaining strict standards of quality, efficiency, and cost control.

Compensation and Tenure

The position carries a pay scale of ₹1,80,000 to ₹3,40,000 (IDA), along with associated benefits. The appointment will be for a five-year term from the date of joining or until the age of superannuation, whichever occurs earlier.

Eligibility Criteria

Professional Background:
Applicants must be working in a regular capacity in one of the following:

  • Central Public Sector Enterprises
  • Central Government Group ‘A’ services, Armed Forces, or All India Services
  • State PSUs or private sector companies with an annual turnover of ₹10,000 crore or more

Educational Qualification:

  • Engineering graduate from a recognized institution
  • MBA or PGDM preferred

Experience Requirements:

  • Senior-level leadership experience in a large organization
  • At least five years of relevant experience in the last decade in project planning, execution, or management
  • Experience in the power transmission sector is desirable
