Raigarh : NTPC Limited’s Lara power station has launched a new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative titled “Evoice Samarth”, aimed at providing free academic coaching, mentorship, and confidence-building support to students from economically weaker backgrounds studying in government schools near the project area.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Shri Subhash Thakur, Business Unit Head of NTPC Lara, as part of the company’s broader education and community development initiatives in the region.
Initiative Focused on Academic Growth
Under the “Evoice Samarth” programme, students from nearby government higher secondary schools will receive structured academic guidance in key subjects to strengthen their foundational learning and improve overall academic performance.
According to NTPC Lara, the initiative is designed to support students who may have limited access to quality educational resources and coaching facilities. The programme seeks to bridge learning gaps and encourage students to perform better in school and competitive academic environments.
NTPC Employees to Serve as Volunteer Mentors
A key feature of the initiative is the active participation of NTPC Lara employees as volunteer mentors. Employees will engage with students through regular mentoring sessions, academic interaction, and motivational guidance aimed at creating a supportive and encouraging learning atmosphere.
The mentorship model is intended not only to assist students academically but also to help them develop discipline, communication skills, and career awareness.

Company officials stated that the CSR programme extends beyond traditional classroom coaching and focuses on overall personality development and emotional confidence among students.

During the launch event, Ms. Girija Pradhan was felicitated for her exceptional academic achievement in the CBSE Class 10 Board Examination 2026, where she secured an impressive 98.33 percent marks.
Her recognition was highlighted as an example of academic excellence and inspiration for other students participating in the programme.
