MOIL Limited Seeks Retired PSU Officers for Inquiry Officer Panel; Applications Open Until April 30, 2026


Nagpur, India — MOIL Limited, a Schedule ‘A’ Miniratna Category-I public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, has announced a recruitment drive inviting applications from retired public sector and government officials for empanelment as Inquiry Officers. The initiative aims to strengthen the company’s internal disciplinary mechanisms.

Panel Tenure and Engagement

Selected candidates will be empaneled for a period of three years. However, assignments will be issued on a case-by-case basis, depending on the requirements of the Disciplinary Authority. The company retains the right to terminate assignments at any stage without prior notice.

About MOIL

Headquartered in Nagpur, MOIL operates ten manganese ore mines across the states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. It is recognized as India’s largest producer of manganese ore, and also runs facilities for Electrolytic Manganese Dioxide (EMD) and Ferro Manganese.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Must be retired officers from MOIL, other Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), or government services
  • Maximum age limit: 70 years as of April 30, 2026
  • Must have prior experience conducting departmental inquiries
  • Should be proficient in both Hindi and English
  • Must be an Indian citizen

Compensation Structure

The honorarium will vary depending on the complexity of cases, determined by the number of witnesses involved:

  • Up to 5 witnesses
    • Government servants: 60% of monthly basic pension
    • Retired PSU executives: 30% of last drawn basic pay
  • 6 to 10 witnesses
    • Government servants: 70% of monthly basic pension
    • Retired PSU executives: 35% of last drawn basic pay
  • More than 11 witnesses
    • Government servants: 90% of monthly basic pension
    • Retired PSU executives: 45% of last drawn basic pay

Travel for inquiries conducted outside Nagpur will be reimbursed as per TA/DA rules applicable to serving officers of equivalent rank.

Roles and Responsibilities

Empaneled Inquiry Officers will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of all documents and proceedings
  • Ensuring compliance with principles of natural justice and disciplinary regulations
  • Submitting inquiry reports within:
    • 60 days for absenteeism cases
    • 90 days for other disciplinary matters
  • Providing two ink-signed copies of the final report to the Disciplinary Authority

Deadline and Legal Jurisdiction
