Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh |In a significant breakthrough against Maoist insurgents, India’s Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives, communication equipment, electronic devices, medical supplies, and Maoist propaganda material during a search operation in the Kader forest area of Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh.
The operation was carried out by the 133rd Battalion of the BSF after receiving credible intelligence indicating that Maoists had concealed a major weapons dump inside the dense forest near Kader village. Security personnel launched a search-and-clear mission, while the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) carefully inspected the suspected location before excavation.
44 BGL Shells Safely Neutralized
One of the most significant recoveries was 44 Barrel Grenade Launcher (BGL) shells, including 24 large and 20 small shells. Considering the potential danger, the Bomb Disposal Squad safely neutralized all 44 shells on-site by following standard explosive disposal procedures, preventing any possible threat to civilians or security forces.
Weapons and Ammunition Seized
Security forces recovered an extensive collection of firearms and ammunition, including:
- 1 .303 Rifle
- 6 .315 Rifles
- 1 12-Bore Shotgun
- 2 Barrel Grenade Launchers (BGLs)
A large quantity of ammunition was also seized, including:
- 33 rounds of 12-bore cartridges
- 91 HD cartridges
- 46 rounds of .303 ammunition
- 9 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition
- 2 pieces of 7.62 mm EFC ammunition
Additionally, personnel recovered rifle magazines, magazine pouches, rifle slings, belts, filling equipment, knocking handle assemblies, zeroing tools, and weapon maintenance accessories.
Communication and Electronic Equipment Recovered
The recovered cache also contained sophisticated electronic and communication devices, indicating the Maoists’ operational capabilities. Among the items seized were:
- RF Detector
- Antennas, including two helical antennas
- IED operating mechanism
- GPS device
- Multiple USB flash drives ranging from 16 GB to 1 TB
- Numerous memory cards with storage capacities of 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB
Investigators believe these digital storage devices could contain valuable intelligence related to Maoist networks, operational plans, communication records, recruitment activities, and previous insurgent operations.
Maoist Literature and Medical Supplies Found
The search team also recovered a large quantity of Maoist literature, documents, banners, photographs, and uniforms, which are expected to provide further insight into insurgent activities.
Medical supplies seized from the site included:
- DNS intravenous fluid bottles
- Disposable syringes
- Surgical dressing pads
- Pain relief ointments
- Crepe bandages
These items indicate preparations for long-term operations inside forested areas.
Additional Operational Equipment Recovered
Security forces also discovered various utility items believed to support Maoist camps, including:
- Plastic storage drums
- Flashlights
- Adhesives
- Markers
- Ballpoint pens
- Paper cutters
- Drill bits
- Geometry kits
- Toothbrushes
- Honda generator manual
- Ahuja omnidirectional impedance equipment
Part of Ongoing Anti-Maoist Operations
Officials stated that although Narayanpur has witnessed a significant decline in Maoist activity and has been declared Maoist-free in many areas, security forces continue intensive search operations to locate and recover hidden weapons, explosives, and logistical supplies left behind by insurgents.
The latest recovery follows another Maoist dump seizure on July 17, 2026, from the Kachapal area, highlighting the continued efforts of security agencies to dismantle remaining insurgent infrastructure.
Authorities believe the recovery of this extensive cache will weaken Maoist logistical capabilities, provide critical intelligence, and further strengthen peace and security across the region.
