Madhya Pradesh Focused on Turning Investment Commitments into Reality, Says CM Mohan Yadav

New Delhi : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has asserted that the state government’s development strategy goes far beyond merely signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), emphasizing that the primary focus is on ensuring that investment commitments are translated into projects on the ground. Speaking during Bharat Tex 2026, India’s largest global textile exhibition held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, the Chief Minister highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s growing industrial strength and its vision of becoming a leading manufacturing and textile hub.

During an interaction on the sidelines of the event, Dr. Yadav outlined the state’s progress in attracting investments and stressed that implementation, execution, and industrial expansion remain the government’s top priorities.

‘Our Focus Is Not Limited to Signing MoUs’

Responding to questions regarding the outcome of the state’s investment promotion initiatives, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the government’s objective is not simply to sign agreements with investors but to ensure that proposed investments materialize into functioning industries and employment opportunities.

He noted that a significant portion of the proposed investments worth nearly ₹10 trillion has already moved into the implementation phase, reflecting growing investor confidence in Madhya Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem.

According to the Chief Minister, the state’s proactive governance model, transparent policies, and investor-friendly environment have accelerated the conversion of investment proposals into real projects.

Madhya Pradesh Showcases ‘Farm-to-Fashion’ Vision

Speaking at Bharat Tex 2026, Dr. Yadav placed special emphasis on the textile sector, describing it as one of the strongest pillars of Madhya Pradesh’s economic growth strategy.

He highlighted the state’s ambitious “Farm-to-Fashion” vision, which seeks to build a fully integrated textile value chain—from cotton cultivation to garment manufacturing and exports.

The Chief Minister stated that Madhya Pradesh possesses all the essential ingredients required to emerge as a global textile manufacturing destination.

Strong Textile Ecosystem

According to Dr. Yadav, Madhya Pradesh has successfully developed a robust textile ecosystem supported by several competitive advantages, including:

  • Abundant availability of raw materials
  • World-leading production of organic cotton
  • Well-established textile clusters
  • Skilled workforce
  • Investor-friendly industrial policies
  • An integrated textile value chain

He emphasized that these strengths position the state as an attractive destination for both domestic and international textile manufacturers seeking long-term investment opportunities.

Manufacturing at the Core of Growth Strategy

While cotton remains central to the state’s agricultural economy, the Chief Minister stressed that manufacturing will be the key driver of Madhya Pradesh’s next phase of economic transformation.

The government aims to strengthen industries by creating modern industrial infrastructure, improving logistics, encouraging value addition, and promoting sustainable manufacturing practices.

Officials believe this integrated approach will generate employment, boost exports, and increase the state’s contribution to India’s manufacturing sector.

Investment-Friendly Policies Driving Growth

Dr. Yadav credited Madhya Pradesh’s investment-friendly policies for attracting significant interest from industries across multiple sectors.

The state government has introduced several reforms to simplify approvals, improve ease of doing business, and provide policy support for investors.

Besides textiles, Madhya Pradesh is actively promoting investments in:

  • Manufacturing
  • Renewable Energy
  • Tourism
  • Food Processing
  • Automobile and Engineering Industries
  • Logistics and Warehousing

These sectors are expected to play a crucial role in accelerating industrial development and creating large-scale employment opportunities.

Focus on Sustainable Industrial Development

The Chief Minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to sustainable industrial growth, ensuring that economic development is balanced with environmental responsibility.

He highlighted initiatives aimed at promoting green manufacturing, renewable energy adoption, and responsible resource utilization while encouraging industries to embrace innovation and modern technologies.

Vision for Long-Term Economic Growth

Dr. Mohan Yadav said Madhya Pradesh is committed to becoming one of India’s leading industrial and textile destinations by combining its agricultural strengths with advanced manufacturing capabilities.

With a growing pipeline of implemented investment projects, strong policy support, and a comprehensive industrial ecosystem, the state aims to strengthen its position as a major contributor to India’s economic growth and global manufacturing ambitions.

The Chief Minister concluded by reaffirming that execution, not just announcements, will remain the guiding principle of the state government’s investment strategy, ensuring that projects create tangible benefits for industries, workers, and the people of Madhya Pradesh.
