Karur Vysya Bank Posts Strong Q1 FY27 Results as Net Profit Surges 45% to ₹756 Crore

MUMBAIKarur Vysya Bank (KVB) has reported an impressive financial performance for the first quarter of FY2026-27 (Q1 FY27), with its standalone net profit rising 45% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹756 crore, compared to ₹521 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

The robust earnings were driven by strong growth in Net Interest Income (NII), improvement in Net Interest Margin (NIM), healthy business expansion, and continued excellence in asset quality, reinforcing the bank’s position as one of India’s best-performing private sector lenders.

Major Operational Highlights

During the quarter, the bank achieved several important milestones:

  • Business growth of 6% Quarter-on-Quarter.
  • Retail, Agriculture and MSME (RAM) portfolio accounted for 86% of total advances.
  • Corporate lending represented 14% of the advances portfolio.
  • Retail Gold Loans registered a strong 12% Quarter-on-Quarter growth.
  • CASA deposits increased by 9%, while Current Account balances grew 19%.
  • The bank plans to open 50 new branches during FY27 to expand its nationwide presence.
  • Under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS), loans worth ₹140 crore were disbursed to 2,232 borrowers, supporting small businesses and economic recovery.

Leadership Transition Underway

The bank also confirmed that Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer Mr. B. Ramesh Babu has reiterated his intention to step down after two years.

According to the management, the Board of Directors has already begun planning an orderly leadership succession process, ensuring continuity in governance and strategic execution.
