NEW DELHI, India — Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has announced that its Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Sanjay Kumar Jain, will officially resign from his position effective July 20, 2026, following approval from the Ministry of Railways, Government of India.
The announcement was made through a regulatory filing submitted to the stock exchanges in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, ensuring timely disclosure of a significant change in the company’s leadership.
According to IRCTC, the company received an official communication dated June 22, 2026, from the Ministry of Railways, which was received on June 23, 2026. The letter stated that the competent authority had approved the resignation of Sanjay Kumar Jain from the post of Chairman and Managing Director, with the resignation taking effect on July 20, 2026.
The Ministry further informed the company that a separate order regarding the additional charge of the CMD position will be issued in due course. Until a permanent successor is appointed, the government is expected to designate a senior official to oversee the responsibilities of the position on an interim basis, ensuring continuity in the company’s operations and decision-making.
The departure of Sanjay Kumar Jain will result in a change in the composition of IRCTC’s Board of Directors from July 20, 2026. The company emphasized that the disclosure was made in accordance with applicable SEBI regulations governing corporate governance and transparency for listed companies.
