State GST teams conduct simultaneous searches at Heavy Transport Company offices and warehouse; records linked to more than 1,500 trucks being examined
Durg : The State GST Department conducted a major search operation at premises linked to Heavy Transport Company (HTC) director Inderjit Singh Chhotu in Bhilai and Balodabazar on Monday. GST officials reached the company’s office and warehouse in Bhilai and began examining business documents, GST records and transaction details. A separate team also conducted an inspection at the company’s yard in Balodabazar.
More than 24 GST officials involved
According to preliminary information, GST teams reached the company’s premises in Bhilai between around 3 pm and 4 pm. More than 24 officers and officials were reportedly involved in the operation at different locations.
The teams are examining documents related to the company’s business operations, GST filings, financial transactions and other relevant records.
Company operates more than 1,500 trucks
The Heavy Transport Company reportedly operates a fleet of more than 1,500 trucks. Given the scale of its operations, the GST investigation is also focusing on records related to the company’s extensive transport network and vehicle operations.
Officials are reportedly verifying whether the information recorded in the company’s GST records corresponds with its actual business activities and vehicle-related transactions.
Investigation also underway in Balodabazar
A separate State GST team reached the company’s yard in Balodabazar, where officials are examining vehicle-related documents and business records.
The simultaneous action at multiple locations indicates that the department may be cross-verifying records maintained at different offices and operational sites.
