New Delhi, August 8, 2026: Flipkart has expanded into the premium and gourmet grocery segment through its quick-commerce platform Minutes, as competition intensifies in India’s rapidly growing quick-commerce market.
According to a report by Moneycontrol, Flipkart Minutes has introduced a range of premium and speciality food products and has also launched a new private label called Pykd for the category.
Minutes Expands Into Gourmet Grocery
The move marks an expansion beyond everyday grocery essentials as quick-commerce companies increasingly target higher-value purchases and premium consumers.
The gourmet selection available through Minutes includes:
- Cheese
- Coffee
- Wood-pressed oils and ghee
- Ramen and noodles
- Chocolates
- Kombucha
- Boba
- Other premium and speciality food products
Flipkart is also planning to add more premium brands to the category as the offering expands.
Pykd: Flipkart’s New Private Label
Alongside premium brands, Flipkart Minutes has introduced Pykd, its private-label brand for the segment.
Pykd currently offers products including namkeen and chips, with the company expected to expand the range over time.
The private-label strategy could allow Flipkart to exercise greater control over product selection, pricing and margins while building a distinct identity in the premium grocery market.
Quick-Commerce Players Target Premium Grocery
Flipkart’s entry comes as several quick-commerce companies broaden their offerings beyond conventional grocery products.
Zepto is preparing its premium grocery service Select, while Blinkit has already launched Gourmet. Bengaluru-based FirstClub is also focused specifically on the premium grocery segment.
The growing competition indicates that India’s quick-commerce industry is increasingly looking beyond speed and convenience, with premium products and differentiated shopping experiences emerging as important areas of competition.
With Minutes and Pykd, Flipkart is positioning itself to capture a share of this emerging premium grocery opportunity.
