Annual Agreement Sets Performance Parameters for Coal India’s Evaluation During 2026-27
New Delhi : Coal India Limited (CIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, outlining the company’s performance parameters and targets for the financial year 2026-27.
The annual agreement establishes the key performance parameters against which Coal India’s performance will be assessed during the financial year.
The MoU was signed by Vikram Dev Dutt, Secretary, Ministry of Coal, on behalf of the Ministry, and B. Sairam, Chairman and Managing Director, Coal India Limited, on behalf of CIL.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Coal and Mines.
Senior Coal India Officials Present
Several senior Coal India executives attended the signing ceremony, including:
- Mukesh Choudhary – Director (Marketing & HR), Additional Charge
- Mukesh Agrawal – Director (Finance)
- Achyut Ghatak – Director (Technical)
- Asheesh Kumar – Director (Business Development)
The participation of senior officials from both the Ministry and Coal India reflects the importance of the annual performance agreement in setting measurable objectives for the country’s largest coal producer.
MoU to Guide Performance Assessment
The MoU provides a framework for evaluating CIL’s achievements during FY 2026-27 against agreed performance indicators.
Such annual agreements between Central Public Sector Enterprises and their respective administrative ministries are intended to establish clear performance expectations and provide a basis for assessing operational and organisational outcomes.
For Coal India, the performance framework will guide the company’s priorities during the financial year while aligning its objectives with the broader requirements of the coal sector and the Ministry of Coal.
The signing of the FY 2026-27 MoU marks the beginning of another annual performance cycle for Coal India, with the company’s achievements to be assessed against the targets and parameters agreed upon with the Ministry.
