Fake transfer orders allegedly prepared through forgery in the Health Department; Balodabazar police expand investigation
Balodabazar: Balodabazar-Bhatapara police have intensified their investigation into an alleged forgery case involving fake transfer orders in the Health Department and manipulation of government documents.
Palari police have arrested two more persons in connection with the case, taking the total number of arrests to six. The latest arrests include Parakh Kashyap and Pranav Awasthi, who is reported to be the son of BJP leader Krishna Awasthi.
According to police, four persons, including a Rural Medical Assistant, were arrested on August 22, 2026. During further investigation, the roles of two additional suspects allegedly emerged, leading to their arrests on August 23.
Investigation Began With Fake Transfer Order
The case relates to an alleged fake transfer order involving the Health Department and alleged manipulation of official government documents.
Police said the investigation was initiated following a complaint regarding the preparation and use of a forged transfer order and alleged tampering with government records.
As the investigation progressed, police reportedly gathered information indicating the involvement of additional individuals.
Two More Arrested During Investigation
Four accused persons, including a Rural Medical Assistant, were arrested on August 22, according to police.
Investigators subsequently examined documentary evidence and questioned the arrested suspects. During the course of the investigation, the alleged involvement of two more persons came to light.
Police arrested Parakh Kashyap and Pranav Awasthi on August 23.
Investigators are now questioning the accused and examining documents connected with the alleged forgery to determine the complete sequence of events.
Who Are the Newly Arrested Accused?
Police have identified the two latest accused as:
- Parakh Kashyap, son of Mahendra Kumar Kashyap, aged 36, resident of Civil Lines, Balodabazar, under City Kotwali police station.
- Pranav Awasthi, son of Krishna Awasthi, aged 30, resident of Risda village, Gandhi Chowk area, under City Kotwali police station.
Six Arrests So Far
With the latest action by Palari police, a total of six people have now been arrested in the alleged fake transfer letter case.
Police said the investigation is still underway and all aspects of the case are being examined.
Investigators are looking into the alleged forgery of government documents, preparation and use of fake transfer orders, and the possible roles and connections among the people allegedly involved.
More Revelations Possible
With six arrests made so far, the scope of the investigation has widened.
Police are now trying to establish who allegedly prepared the forged documents, why they were created, how they were used and who else may have been involved in the alleged operation.
The newly arrested accused are being processed for production before the court.
