Kolkata / New Delhi : Coal India Limited (CIL) has officially announced that Dr. Vinay Ranjan, Director (Human Resource) and a member of the company’s Board of Directors, has ceased to hold office with effect from July 28, 2026.
The announcement was made through a regulatory filing submitted to the stock exchanges in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
According to the filing, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the non-extension of Dr. Vinay Ranjan’s tenure beyond July 27, 2026, resulting in his cessation as Director (Human Resource) from the following day.
The Ministry of Coal communicated the ACC’s decision to Coal India Limited through an official letter dated July 15, 2026. Acting on the ministry’s communication, the company formally notified the stock exchanges and requested that the information be taken on record.
Dr. Vinay Ranjan served as Director (Human Resource) and was responsible for overseeing the company’s human resource strategy, workforce management, employee welfare, industrial relations, talent development, and organizational transformation initiatives. During his tenure, he contributed to strengthening HR policies across one of the world’s largest coal-producing companies.
The company has not yet announced the name of his successor or provided further details regarding the appointment of a new Director (Human Resource).
