Siliguri, West Bengal |Coal India Limited Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Shri Brajesh Kumar Tripathy addressed vigilance officials of Oil India Limited during a Vigilance Review Meeting held in Siliguri, West Bengal, emphasizing the importance of proactive vigilance, ethical governance, and participative decision-making in India’s public sector enterprises.
During the session, Tripathy shared several innovative initiatives implemented by Coal India to strengthen preventive and proactive vigilance systems across the organization. He explained how these measures have helped promote transparency, accountability, and integrity while building a value-driven organizational culture within the company.
Speaking at the meeting, Tripathy highlighted the guiding principles of “Reform, Transform, Perform, and Inform,” stating that continuous institutional reforms and collaborative governance practices are essential for improving operational efficiency and strengthening public trust in government-owned enterprises.
He further noted that Coal India’s Vigilance Division follows a participative and positive approach designed to encourage employees to make bold and timely decisions with bona fide intent, without fear of unnecessary scrutiny. According to him, such an approach not only enhances employee confidence but also ensures adherence to ethical and governance standards.
The interaction between vigilance teams of major public sector companies such as Coal India and Oil India reflects the increasing focus on inter-organizational learning, knowledge sharing, and the adoption of best practices to strengthen governance frameworks across India’s energy sector.
