Basant Vihar, SECL: The Sakhi Mahila Group, SECL, Narmada Club, Vasant Vihar, celebrated the auspicious Sawan Festival on August 6, 2026, with great enthusiasm, joy and traditional fervour. The celebration brought together women members of the group in a vibrant and festive atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of togetherness, cultural traditions and women’s participation.
A large number of women members participated enthusiastically in the programme and added a special charm to the celebrations by wearing pink sarees. The colourful attire and festive decorations created a lively and cheerful ambience at the venue.
As part of the traditional celebrations, the women exchanged greetings and affectionately adorned one another with green bangles, an important symbol associated with the festive spirit of Sawan. Suhaag items were also distributed among the participants, adding a traditional and auspicious touch to the occasion.
The programme featured a variety of fun-filled games and entertainment activities, in which the participating women took part with great excitement. The games provided an opportunity for the members to interact, enjoy themselves and strengthen their bonds of friendship and camaraderie.
The celebrations became even more lively with music and dance performances. The participants enthusiastically joined the musical and cultural activities, creating an atmosphere filled with happiness, laughter and festive energy. The performances added colour and vibrancy to the event and were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone present.
The entire programme reflected the rich cultural traditions of Sawan while also providing the women members with an opportunity to come together and celebrate the festival in a spirit of unity, friendship and mutual respect.
The successful organisation and smooth conduct of the event were made possible under the leadership and coordination of Sakhi Mahila Group Secretary Mrs. Khushi Kshatriya, Deputy Secretary Mrs. Mona Kamle, Treasurer Mrs. Binni Kurre, and Cultural Secretary Mrs. Karuna Sahu. Their efforts contributed significantly to making the celebration engaging, well-organised and memorable for all participants.
The Sawan celebration concluded in a warm, harmonious and joyous atmosphere, leaving the participating women with happy memories of a colourful and culturally enriching gathering.
