Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India: The first-ever Chhattisgarh Sports Conclave 2026 marked a significant milestone in the state’s sporting journey, bringing together sports administrators, sports scientists, international athletes, coaches, and representatives of sports federations from across India to chart a long-term roadmap for the development of sports.
The event featured an emotional moment when Deputy Chief Minister and Sports Minister Arun Sao connected with Commonwealth Games 2026 silver medalist Gyaneshwari Yadav through a live video call from Glasgow, congratulating her for bringing glory to both Chhattisgarh and India.
Historic Sports Conclave Held in Raipur
Hosted at a private hotel in Raipur, the conclave focused on strengthening the state’s sports ecosystem through discussions on:

Emotional Video Call with Gyaneshwari Yadav
One of the most memorable moments came when weightlifter Gyaneshwari Yadav, a native of Rajnandgaon, joined the conclave via live video call from Glasgow, where she recently won a silver medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Competing in the 53-kilogram weightlifting category, Gyaneshwari lifted a combined total of 199 kilograms to secure the silver medal.
As her image appeared on the giant screen, the audience rose to its feet with a standing ovation, applauding her remarkable achievement.
Addressing the gathering, Gyaneshwari said:
“I am extremely happy that Chhattisgarh has organized a Sports Conclave of this scale for the first time. Representing India and bringing pride to Chhattisgarh at such a prestigious event was not easy. This achievement has been possible because of the support, encouragement, and blessings of everyone. I sincerely thank you all.”
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao introduced her virtually to sports experts, administrators, and athletes attending the conclave.
