New Delhi | The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has announced two significant appointments under the Central Staffing Scheme, assigning experienced civil servants to key leadership positions in the education and urban land management sectors.
The appointments, made through official DoPT orders, are expected to strengthen administrative efficiency and policy implementation in two important government institutions.
Meena Bisht Appointed Director in School Education & Literacy
Ms. Meena Bisht, an Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS) officer of the 2012 batch, has been appointed as Director in the Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of India, based in New Delhi.
According to the official order, she has been appointed for a five-year tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme.
In her new role, Ms. Bisht will contribute to the formulation and implementation of policies related to school education, literacy programs, and other initiatives aimed at strengthening India’s education system.
The Department of School Education & Literacy, under the Ministry of Education, plays a crucial role in improving educational access, quality, and learning outcomes across the country.
Vandana Singh Appointed Commissioner (Land Management) in DDA
In another important appointment, Ms. Vandana Singh, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttarakhand cadre (2013 batch), has been appointed as Commissioner (Land Management) in the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
The post is at the Deputy Secretary level under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, and her tenure has been fixed at four years.
As Commissioner (Land Management), Ms. Singh will oversee matters related to land administration, urban development, land utilization, and policy implementation within the DDA.
The appointment is expected to support the authority’s ongoing efforts to improve urban planning, land management, and infrastructure development in the National Capital Region.
Immediate Joining Instructions Issued
The DoPT has directed both officers to assume their new responsibilities immediately.
As per the official orders, they have been instructed to report to their respective organizations within three weeks, in accordance with the provisions of the Central Staffing Scheme.
The timely joining of both officers is expected to ensure smooth administrative transition and uninterrupted functioning of their respective departments.
