Israeli Strikes Continue in Gaza Despite Ceasefire; Six Reported Killed as Regional Tensions Escalate

Gaza, Palestinian Territories: Israeli military strikes reportedly continued across Gaza on Thursday, with six people killed, according to Gaza’s Civil Defense Agency and local health officials. The latest attacks come despite an ongoing ceasefire that was brokered through U.S.-led mediation, raising fresh concerns about the stability of the truce.

According to the Gaza Civil Defense Agency, two people were killed after an Israeli drone strike targeted the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. The remaining four fatalities were reported in separate incidents across different areas of the territory. Local hospitals also confirmed receiving the bodies of the six victims.

The continued violence has fueled uncertainty over the future of the ceasefire agreement, with humanitarian conditions in Gaza remaining severe after months of conflict.

U.S. Launches Additional Operations Against Iran

The developments in Gaza coincided with escalating tensions involving the United States and Iran. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it had launched additional military operations aimed at reducing Iran’s ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important shipping routes.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), CENTCOM said the operations were carried out under the direction of the Commander in Chief. U.S. officials stated the strikes were intended to respond to threats against commercial shipping and civilian maritime crews in the region.

Iran Claims Missile Strike on U.S. Air Base in Jordan

Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for launching 10 ballistic missiles targeting the U.S. Al-Azraq Air Base in northern Jordan. The IRGC described the operation as targeting what it called an enemy command-and-control center in West Asia.

According to statements broadcast by Iran’s state media (IRIB), the missile attack represented the second phase of Iran’s response to what Tehran described as recent U.S. military aggression.

The IRGC also warned that if the United States carries out additional military operations, other U.S. bases across the region could face further attacks.

Regional Situation Remains Highly Volatile

The continued Israeli strikes in Gaza, combined with the rapidly escalating confrontation between the United States and Iran, have intensified fears of a broader regional conflict. International observers continue to closely monitor developments as diplomatic efforts seek to prevent further escalation.

Note: Several claims in this developing situation—including those regarding military strikes and casualties—have been made by the respective parties involved and may not yet be independently verified.
