AI Training Workshop Organized in Kawardha Forest Division: A New Chapter in Technology-Driven Forest Management


Kawardha  — In a significant step toward modernizing forest administration through advanced technology, the Forest Department, Kawardha Forest Division organized a one-day special training workshop on the utility of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for forest officials and staff members. The workshop was held at the conference hall of the Forest Division Office in Kawardha under the guidance and leadership of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Nikhil Agrawal.

The training session aimed to familiarize departmental officers and employees with emerging AI technologies and their practical applications in forest administration, wildlife protection, data management, and field monitoring. The initiative reflects the department’s growing emphasis on digital transformation and efficient governance.

The workshop featured AI trainer Shivam Bansal from Raipur as the chief resource person. During the session, he provided detailed demonstrations of modern AI-powered platforms and explained how these technologies can improve productivity, decision-making, and communication within the forest department.

Several senior officials and staff members attended the workshop, including Abhinav Kesharwani, Shivendra Bhagat, Kirtivardhan, and Anita Sahu. Range officers, clerical staff, and computer operators from the Kawardha Forest Division also participated actively in the training.

During the workshop, participants were introduced to several advanced AI tools and their practical applications:

Gemini

The trainer explained that Gemini is a powerful multilingual AI platform capable of drafting complex reports, analyzing data, and streamlining departmental correspondence. Officials were informed that the tool can significantly reduce time spent on routine administrative tasks and improve documentation efficiency.

NotebookLM

NotebookLM was presented as an effective solution for summarizing lengthy documents, government records, gazettes, and departmental guidelines. The tool can quickly extract key information from large volumes of text, making it particularly useful for reviewing forest policies and archival records.

Claude

The session also covered Claude, which is known for its strong reasoning abilities and human-like communication style. According to the trainer, the platform can be effectively utilized for analyzing policy documents, drafting creative communication materials, and improving official correspondence.

Vanmitra

A specialized departmental tool named Vanmitra was also demonstrated. The platform is designed to assist field-level forest personnel in monitoring forest security, reporting forest-related offenses, and tracking plantation activities in real time.

Addressing the participants at the conclusion of the workshop, DFO Nikhil Agrawal emphasized that adopting modern technology has become essential in today’s rapidly evolving administrative environment. He stated that AI tools can not only improve operational efficiency but also bring greater transparency, accuracy, and accountability in forest conservation and wildlife management.

He encouraged all officials and employees to integrate these digital technologies into their day-to-day work processes to enhance governance and service delivery.

Participants described the workshop as highly informative and beneficial. Many expressed interest in attending more such technical sessions in the future to strengthen their digital skills and improve departmental performance through innovation-driven practices.
