‘Warship Played a Decisive Role in Operation Sindoor’: PM Modi Celebrates Diwali Aboard INS Vikrant

Goa/Karwar : Continuing his tradition of celebrating Diwali with the armed forces, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spent the festival onboard the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant on Monday. During his visit, the Prime Minister lauded the Indian Navy’s prowess and hailed the warship as a symbol of India’s strength, talent, and commitment.

Highlighting the coordination between the three branches of the armed forces, PM Modi said this synergy was crucial to Pakistan’s surrender during Operation Sindoor, where INS Vikrant played a decisive role.

> “INS Vikrant is more than just a warship; it is a testimony to the hard work, skill, and dedication of our forces,” he said.

Reflecting on his time aboard the carrier, the Prime Minister said the spirit and patriotism of naval personnel were deeply inspiring.

> “The night spent on INS Vikrant is hard to put into words. Watching you sing patriotic songs and narrate Operation Sindoor through them reflects the true spirit of a soldier on the battlefield,” he added.

Emphasizing the psychological impact of the warship, PM Modi said the very name ‘Vikrant’ evokes fear among adversaries.

> “Its presence alone can shatter the enemy’s courage before a battle begins. This is the power of INS Vikrant, and today, I especially salute our armed forces,” he stated.

PM Modi also highlighted the significance of the BrahMos cruise missile, describing it as a “game-changer” during Operation Sindoor. He noted that the missile system instills fear among adversaries and has drawn interest from several countries.

Reaffirming his government’s commitment to strengthening the defense sector, the Prime Minister said India is working to emerge as one of the world’s leading defense exporters.
